Before starting treatment for psoriasis

8 weeks after starting treatment

Patients with skin diseases suffer not only from physical discomfort but also emotional and social challenges, as well as a high level of dependence on medications. The reliance on medications and the inability for Western interventions to address root causes of dysfunction is what led Alison at Aurum Acupuncture to study Chinese Herbal Medicine specific for dermatological conditions under world-renowned Mazin Al-Khafaji of Avicenna Institute in the UK.

At Aurum Acupuncture, we take pride in offering dermatology services deeply rooted in the wisdom of Chinese Medicine. Our passion for Chinese Medical Dermatology arises from recognizing a scarcity of reliable, low-risk treatment alternatives. For over a millennium, Chinese Medicine has diagnosed and treated diseases such as eczema, psoriasis, and acne with an understanding that surpasses merely addressing the surface symptoms.

We believe in providing our patients with low-risk, highly personalized, and natural herbal treatments, tailored to manage, and even eliminate, stubborn dermatological conditions. So why limit yourself to just mitigating the visible signs on your skin?

Our specialized dermatology services can aid in managing skin conditions such as:

  • Eczema/Dermatitis, including: Atopic Eczema, “Topical Steroid Withdrawal”, Pomphylx Eczema, Nummular Eczema, Stasis Eczema, Seborrheic Dermatitis, and Peri-oral or Peri-orbital dermatitis

  • Psoriasis

  • Acne

  • Lichen Planus

  • Alopecia Areata

  • Impetigo

  • Rosacea

  • Lichen Simplex

  • Herpes Simplex and/or Zoster

  • Vitiligo

  • Tinea Versicolor and Tinea Alba

  • Urticaria

The treatment process starts with an initial evaluation to examine and photo document skin lesions. Herbs are prescribed based on your current condition after the consult and shipped directly to you. The herbs are consumed twice daily and certain conditions may necessitate the use of topical ointments as well. Follow-up consultations typically occur every two to three weeks, allowing us to assess progress and adjust your herbal regimen accordingly.

The efficacy of Chinese Medicine in treating skin conditions is remarkable, although it requires some engagement from the patients. However, for most patients, the outcome of treatment makes that engagement fully worthwhile!
